Terms of Service

My Danish Tutor is run by Nikulás Óskarsson, trading as Nikulás Software (CVR 46354389), registered in Denmark. Questions, complaints and requests all go to nikulas@my-danish-tutor.com, and are read by a person.

Using the site means accepting these terms. If you don't, please don't use it.

You need to be at least 13 years old. Give a real email address, keep your password to yourself, and don't share the account — it tracks one person's progress and stops being useful if several people use it.

You'll be asked to confirm your email address. After 14 days an unconfirmed account stops saving new progress until you do, because an unconfirmed address means we can't get a password reset to you and can't be sure the address is yours rather than someone else's.

You can delete your account whenever you like, from settings. That removes your data — see the Privacy Policy.

There's a free version and a paid one.

The free version is a real product, not a trial — you can learn from it indefinitely without paying. It may have limits, and some features may be part of Pro (€4 / month). The pricing page always shows what each plan includes today.

Your first month of Pro costs €1; after that it's the monthly price shown when you subscribe. That offer is once per account. Cancel any time in settings — you keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, and we don't ask why.

Pro is sold through Link. When you subscribe, you buy Pro from Link, Stripe's payment service, which acts as the reseller (the “merchant of record”). It is the seller on your receipt — your card statement shows “LINK.COM*” followed by our name — and its terms, shown at checkout, cover the payment itself. Link handles receipts, tax, payment questions and refund requests; these terms cover the product.

Your price doesn't go up while you stay subscribed. We may raise the price for new subscribers as the course grows; a subscription keeps the price it started at for as long as it stays active. If you cancel and subscribe again later, the price at that time applies.

Nothing you have already saved is ever deleted because of a plan limit. If a limit applies to you, it stops you adding more — it doesn't remove what's already there, and your progress, streak and history are never affected.

We may change what's in each plan as the product develops — the pricing page always shows the current split. A change applies from then on: it never deletes anything you've saved or undoes progress you've made.

As a consumer in the EU you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase. Because Pro starts immediately, you agree to that when you subscribe, and if you withdraw after using it a proportionate amount may be kept for the days used. In practice: ask Link's support, or email us, and a subscription you're unhappy with will be refunded.

Please don't:

• scrape or bulk-copy the exercises, word lists, audio or guides, or republish them as your own — a lot of work went into them
• resell access, or use the content to build a competing product
• attack the site, try to reach other people's accounts or data, or hunt for holes without asking first
• automate account creation, or use the site in a way that degrades it for everyone else

If you think you've found a security problem, email us rather than publishing it. We'll take it seriously and we won't come after you for reporting it in good faith.

Learning Danish from the material — including using it to teach a class or study with a friend — is entirely fine and rather the point.

The exercises, guides, word lists, recordings and the site itself belong to us. You get permission to use them to learn, personally and non-commercially. That permission doesn't transfer ownership and can be withdrawn if these terms are broken.

Anything you write — feedback, your own notes, the decks you build — stays yours. We only use feedback to improve the product, and won't publish it with your name attached without asking.

This is built by one person who is also learning Danish. The material is written and checked carefully, but it may contain mistakes, and it is not a substitute for a teacher, a course, or preparation for a specific official exam.

The site is provided as-is. We don't promise it will always be available, that your progress can never be lost, or that any particular exercise is correct. Keep anything you truly cannot lose somewhere else too.

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses arising from using the site. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited — including for death, personal injury, or anything caused by gross negligence or intent — and if you deal with us as a consumer, your statutory rights under Danish law are unaffected by anything in these terms.

You can stop and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, and if it's a borderline case we'll email you first and explain.

If the product ever shuts down, we'll give notice by email and a way to export your data before it goes.

We may update these terms. For minor corrections we'll change the date at the top; for anything that materially affects you we'll email you first. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the new version.

Danish law, and the Danish courts. If you're a consumer elsewhere in the EU, this doesn't deprive you of the protections of your own country's law.
